On 2 December 1971, the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain
and Fujairah formed a federation, joineded by Ras R Al Khaaimah in 1972. Since then, the UAE
has developed rapidly while preserving its cultural heritage and Islamic values.
Today the country is known for its modern infrastructure, international partnerships and commitment to tolerance, innovation and sustainable development.
